I have nested myself in this beautiful (???....!...!) city for past 8 years... Then it was really a nice feel, with limited access to shopping centre viz Safina plaza, national Market not to leave behind Brigade's and Commercial Street, few coffee shops, still fewer malls..
With passé of time, city has go to put up with more malls, more coffee shops, more shopping centres, still more hangouts, with much more Human influx to the city along with their vehicles, sorry to say with the same or rather lesser greener patch and lesser lung space left out..
Gone are the days, when it used to take me 30mins to reach Koramangala from Yeshwantpur. Today the same distance takes me COOOOL 60mins. Late Then I used to notice a pile-up of vehicles only at Traffic signals, today I see traffic all around me, Blame Whom????
Today, from the moment you start the day with a say "GO" you are in traffic, today you need to keep thorough watch on the roads for the oncoming traffic, even if you have to reach your good old grocery shop round the corner down the lane, otherwise which you would have traced blind folded.... Blame Whom???
HOWEVER, Have we (you, me, everyone) ever given a serious thought onto it? why is this traffic chaos? What is adding to it? Is it a flash of our disposable income? or is it effect of the economic outburst? Or is it due to the concentration of employment opportunity in one city in a state?
Well, I quote, we each, are responsible for this. How many of us use public transport? How many of us follow the lane discipline? (Seems not applicable to City Buses/Rikshaws) How many of us sensibly park our vehicles in parking lot? How many of us religiously alight buses at the bus stops earmarked for it? For that matter even the "Auto rickshaws"?How many of us have not put Shamiana's on the roads on occasions like pooja and other celebrations? How about the Roadside vendors, chatwala etc occupying the Footpaths and Roads?.........BLAME WHOM?
I personally would never complain for this traffic chaos, because its "US" who brought city to pathetic state. So, why complain? Just put-up with it? Due to our faults city is fast loosing its Charm, Glitter-n-Glory? Whatever, I will be ever thankful for the city, cos it made me look it in more positive way - I have developed and exercised lot of "PATIENCE".
I love Bangalore, for the city it is, and for being my second-home for past 8 years.. Being that, how can I complain on my home?? But I still love Bangalore for the City, for the warmth of its people, its climate and for everything else!!!…
And absolutely for the romantic weather looming over the city for past couple of days....
